Just a short drive from McCall, this family-friendly fishing spot is perfect for anglers of all ages. The pond is stocked throughout the summer with rainbow trout and gradually sloped banks surround the pond making fishing access easy and convenient. You can also try your luck from the fishing pier!
Located along the wild and scenic Upper North Fork of the Payette River, this pond is also a great stopping point for those kayaking or paddle boarding the river. There’s a covered area with picnic tables nestled in along the trees and restrooms near the parking lot.
Make sure everybody over the age of 14 has a valid Idaho fishing license. Limit 6 keepers per license.
Tackle Tip:
There are no bait or tackle restrictions for this fishing pond and we recommend a small-medium lure with pink coloring on it. These fish are easy to reel in and a barb less hook works really well if you intend to release the fish unharmed.
Driving Directions:
From downtown McCall, head west on Lake Street (Highway 55). After passing the Shore Lodge, turn right onto Warren Wagon Road. After approximately 7 miles, turn right on Eastside Drive. Take the first right into Ponderosa State Park Northwest Passage Campground (park fees apply). Follow the signs to the fishing pond!
