Happy Holidays from your Hearthstone Family
With the holidays upon us, our special holiday thoughts are with all of our wonderful Hearthstone owners, their families, friends and our many guests. Whether we are adorning homes with Christmas trees and holiday wreaths or diligently confirming holiday reservations and coordinating pre-arrival grocery shopping for holiday feasts, the Hearthstone team is hard at work making sure everything at Hearthstone is in tip-top shape for your upcoming holiday and winter visits. We look forward to seeing you during the holidays or sometime during the winter season, with our very best wishes for a healthy and happy New Year!
Important Reminder for Check-OutIn an effort to reduce our property's utility costs this winter, please remember to turn off lights, close windows, turn the home's thermostats down to 55 and notify a Hearthstone team member of your departure. If you are departing outside of office hours, please drop your keys and garage opener in the drop box located to the right of the office entrance.
Send us your Photos!
We are updating our owner wall in the Owner Services office. Please send us your family photos or drop them off during your next Hearthstone visit.
Little Ski Hill Renovations
The lodge at the Little Ski Hill, located just a few minutes north of McCall, is getting a new look to improve functionality. The renovations, overseen by general manager Colby Nielson, will allow for better utilization of the lodge. The main entrance is being shifted to allow for a ski patrol room, where injured patrons can receive care in privacy. Other changes include a separate entrance for ski patrol and the replacement and relocation of the fireplace. Future renovations will expand the kitchen facility as well as develop the area to accommodate outdoor events.
Bear Basin gets a new groomer
After ten years offering some of the best nordic style skiing in the country, Bear Basin finally has its very own nordic groomer, courtesy of both the Payette Lakes Ski Club and recently awarded grants. Up until now, the complex of trails was groomed using an alpine groomer borrowed from the Little Ski Hill retrofitted to accommodate the differing terrain. The new groomer should mean the already amazing trails at Bear Basin will be ready for a stunning winter day outdoors!

No cost means a day of fun with the little ones on hills just their size without lightening your pocket book. All you need is a sled, a thermos of hot cocoa and a heart for adventure. Who says the best things in life aren't free!
Melanie Rowe Promoted to Resort ManagerThis fall, Melanie Rowe was promoted from Manager of Owner Relations and Services to Resort Manager and we are very pleased with the positive impact this has made. With her promotion, Melanie is now responsible for all aspects of the resort including housekeeping, maintenance, owner services and the implementation of approved refurbishment projects. With a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality and Business Management, she is highly qualified for the position and has clearly proven her abilities in overall management and leadership since joining Hearthstone more than a year ago. "I have really enjoyed the past year as the Manager of Owner Services as the position allowed me to get to know all of our owners and their families. I'm extremely excited for my new role and am looking forward to leading Hearthstone and striving for even higher levels of excellence in all areas." Michael Burns, President of PRR Management, added, "We are thrilled to have Melanie in her new role as Resort Manager bringing a new and fresh perspective to the overall operation at Hearthstone."
Making the Most of Your Ownership: Internal ExchangeLooking to exchange your week with another owner? One of the often overlooked tools is the ability for owners to trade with one another in the "Owner's Access" area of the Hearthstone website. Whether plans have changed and you are unable to use your current reservation or you are looking to exchange in hopes of having back-to-back weeks, using this online feature to trade weeks with other owners is yet another great way to maximize your ownership at Hearthstone while helping other owners do the same and it's right at your finger tips and easy to use. The internal exchange can be accessed by logging into the "Owner's Access" area of the website and clicking on the "Reservations" tab. Options to "View Weeks" or "Post a Week" are listed under the "Weeks Exchange" section. Posting your week for trade on the website not only allows other Hearthstone owners to view your post and directly communicate with you, but it also alerts the Owner Services team to your desires and intentions. The more this feature is used, the more options and opportunities there will be available for all owners. If you have any questions or need assistance posting a week for trade on the website, please contact Owner Services.
Tiffany Thomeczek Joins Hearthstone
Hearthstone is pleased to announce the addition of Tiffany Thomeczek to Owner Services. Tiffany's family moved to McCall in 1992 and with the exception of a couple years in Colorado, Tiffany has called McCall "home" ever since. Tiffany's extensive customer service background, passion for the hospitality industry and can do attitude make her a great fit for the Hearthstone team. "I was really excited to join Hearthstone last July. I have been warmly welcomed by everyone and look forward to meeting all of the Hearthstone owners and their families this coming winter," Tiffany says. When not in the office, Tiffany spends as much time as she can with her three children hiking, fishing, relaxing at Burgdorf Hot Springs, and foraging the valley for the natural ingredients needed for many of her homeopathic remedies.
Hearthstone's Fall ImprovementsThe more relaxed pace (relative to overall occupancy) of the fall season provided an opportunity for the Hearthstone team to work on a host of interior and exterior refurbishment projects. The team's dedication to continued improvements at Hearthstone is one of the many ways ownership is a truly "hassle-free" way to own a vacation home in McCall. The natural effects of time and harsh McCall winters have not been easy on the Hearthstone roadways, which were completely resealed this fall to maintain their overall condition for years to come. The exteriors of homes 11, 12, 15, and 16 were power washed and sanded before receiving a fresh coat of paint. Our maintenance team also dedicated time to prepping and touching-up the patios of a number homes to ensure that relaxing on the patio remains a truly enjoyable experience next summer. In addition to the exterior maintenance, new sectional sofas were placed in homes 15-20, as well as new blinds being installed in the dining area of homes 17-20. Homes 11-16 received new carpet, tile and hardwood flooring. This completes the extensive, 2-year flooring refurbishment project which began at Hearthstone back in November of 2013. The response from owners has been very positive and in case you haven't stayed in a newly refurbished home yet, here's what you can expect: Homes 11-16:
Winter Carnival in McCall"Beyond Tomorrow" is the theme of McCall's Winter Carnival which kicks off on Friday, January 29, 2016. From the 1960s to the present, the Winter Carnival has been a mainstay of the local winter season and now attracts over 60,000 people to the 10-day event every year. Although the ice sculptures draw in the crowds, there are numerous other activities to partake in during Winter Carnival. The weeklong festivities begin with the children's torchlight parade, a Mardi Gras themed community parade, Monte Carlo night filled with casino themed games, and much more! While enjoying the parade or admiring the ice sculptures, be sure to stop in and do some shopping at one of our local stores or grab a quick, warm bite at one of our many restaurants. There will be food, fun and fireworks for everyone. All you need do is dress warm and stay long! Click here for a full schedule of carnival events.
