More than 300 inches of snow grace McCall's ski slopes in a typical winter season, almost 100 inches more than you'll find in the famous Sun Valley. In McCall, you'll also see far less crowds. And have two major ski resorts to choose from: Brundage Mountain and Tamarack Resort, the first new ski resort built in the U.S. in over 23 years. Little Ski Hill is also an area favorite, and offers great opportunities for the entry-level skier.

Brundage Mountain.
For over 30 years, Brundage Mountain Resort has been a mecca for winter sports: 7,640 feet high, over 1,800 vertical feet of drop, 1,300 acres of lift-served terrain with some runs over two miles long! The resort also offers backcountry skiing via snow cat in the nearby Payette National forest, as well as instruction, rentals and great mountain biking in the summer.

Tamarack Resort.
The $1.5 billion Tamarack opened in the winter of 2004. With a 7,700-foot summit that overlooks Lake Cascade, Tamarack offers a total vertical drop of 2,800 feet, nine aerial lifts and five surface lifts with 600 acres of groomed terrain and 1,100 acres of skiable terrain. Tamarack also offers an 18-hole golf course, an extensive network of mountain biking and hiking trails, and boating on Lake Cascade.

The Little Ski Hill.
Built in 1937, the Little Ski Hill has one lift, a 405-foot vertical drop and 40 acres of skiable terrain. It also offers 50 kilometers of groomed skating lanes, touring trails, a biathlon range and night skiing on weekends.
